Emma Singer grew up in Mimili Community. Mother of two, Emma is passionate about education and supporting young people to grow up strong in community despite the many challenges and obstacles present. At her young age, she has already worked as an educator at Mimili Anangu School, as a youth outreach officer for Community Night Patrol, and most recently – as an artist at Mimili Maku Arts.
Emma is a skilled and considered painter with a natural sense for composition and balance. She presented a major work as part of the 2022 Ellen José Art Award at the Bayside Gallery, having been chosen as one of the six most exciting female visual artists under 35 in Australia today.
When she is not working on her own art practice, she loves to support and encourage other artists in their work, always recalling lessons taught by her Elders – in art, culture and life. Emma presented work at Sydney Contemporary Art Fair and Melbourne Art Fair in 2022 and 2023.
