Kuḻaṯa Tjuṯa is a monumental installation comprising 550 kuḻaṯa (spears) suspended in a formation resembling a nuclear explosion. The installation hovers above a circular arrangement of hand-carved piti (wooden bowls). Created by fifty-nine artists from the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands of South Australia over multiple years, this project is part of an ongoing series of Kulata Tjuta (many spears) projects developed as a means to support intergenerational learning and maintenance of culture and developed by the membership of the APY Art Centre Collective.
