Milpatjunanyi is an ongoing cultural project that has been steadily growing at Mimili Maku Arts. Led by Robert Fielding, the work celebrates the matriarchs of community, the knowledge they continue to share with the next generation through their deep knowing of country.
First developed for the Together In Art digital platform presented by Art Gallery of New South Wales in 2020, the project has taken on a life of its own, inviting more and more collaborators into its fold and growing in scale and ambition.
In 2023, a snapshot of this work was be presented as part of The National 4: Australian Art Now at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
